The Demi-Sec cuvée is a fine multi-vintage champagne and the blend is inspired by the profile of the Deutz Brut Classic. The key to this style of the wine is derived from: a perfect harmony between the three components: Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay; the use of top-quality fruit: the vast majority originates from either Grands Crus or Premiers Crus. Equally important is the fact that the company seldom allows other juice than first pressings to be part of its cuvees; the reserve wines (top quality vins clairs from previous years) account for 20% to 40%. The reserve wines guarantee a perfect consistency year after year and also add complexity to the wine; the level of dosage (44 grams of sugar per litre) which brings to the Demi-Sec roundness, richness, opulence and a long length, without hiding elegance. Bottled at 12%. (Bottle size 750ml) Nose: On the nose, the wine initially displays floral notes, hawthorn blossom and white flowers, followed by aromas of toast, marzipan and ripe fruits such as apples and pears. Palate: On the palate, the wine shows again great balance and elegance. Flavours from the nose following through on the palate. The nobility of the chardonnay and the richness of the pinot noir shine through the fine, medium to full-bodied texture of the demi-sec. Finish: The finish is lingering.
