Shane MacGowan, 65, once the lead singer of band Pogues, is said to have spent the previous few months in intensive care after being diagnosed with viral encephalitis last year. According to his wife, he has been released today from the St Vincent's Hospital in Dublin. The vocalist had previous cases of drug and alcohol abuse and was in a serious condition.
